It is the hardware that enables the sending and collection of telemetry through its digital and analog inputs and outputs, and its wide variety of integrated communication protocols. It uses our embedded code platform, Autolink Framework, which makes it so reliable and robust while maximizing its full potential. It is an ideal product for industrial monitoring and control as it is compatible with countless sensors and actuators.
At Autolink, we have the personnel and tools for the design and construction of our equipment. Each RTU undergoes rigorous quality control tests that assure our customers that the equipment will function exceptionally and smoothly, minimizing maintenance times. Moreover, having the design and construction equipment in the same place allows us to update the RTUs very quickly, allowing us to adapt to each new project.
Each Autolink RTU has internal modules. A central processor that is responsible for controlling and sending telemetry through LTE-M networks, and monitoring modules that measure all the electrical impulses coming from the sensors.
Being modular, each Autolink RTU can be modified according to the needs of each project. In addition to this, if any module fails, it can be replaced without the need for long maintenance times.
Separating the hardware with this design philosophy allows us to guarantee operation in any event or extreme event that may occur. Each module is protected and isolated from the others, so high amperage events, high electrostatic load, or voltage spikes will not be catastrophic for the device.
We have modules for a wide variety of communication protocols. This variety will only grow as new protocols are created, and the modular philosophy allows us to add them very quickly.
Dry contact relay, opto-isolated digital inputs, 4-20mA analog inputs, RS232, RS485, are some of the currently supported protocols.
One highlight is connectivity in remote areas. It does not use the LTE of a cell phone, it is a different technology called LTE-M in band 28 that is specially designed for machine-to-machine communication. This means that the Autolink RTU has a connection even when your cell phone does not have a signal.
We have been able to test that even when located more than 100km away from the nearest base station, a connection can still be established. This gives us the confidence to provide you with monitoring and control of your company regardless of its geographical location.
Autolink RTU has an integrated battery capable of monitoring, controlling, and sending telemetry of power loss for 12 hours.
Being modular, the technical specifications vary depending on the modules used. There are 2 main usage modes: to connect a system with an already installed PLC to the internet, and to connect sensors without a PLC or any other programmable logic system.
